Common Travel Related Health Concerns
Travelers may be at risk for a variety of preventable illnesses, including but not limited to:
- Hepatitis
- Measles
- Malaria
- Polio
- Traveler’s Diarrhea
Seeking medical advice before travelling is strongly recommended. A consultation with a medical practitioner experienced in travel health can help ensure you receive the appropriate vaccines and preventive guidance for your trip.
Important Coverage Information
Manitoba Health does not cover visits related to travel vaccines or travel health advice. Fees may apply for consultations and immunizations.
Booking a Travel Consultation
Patients must contact their physician’s direct phone line to arrange a travel health appointment.
Do not wait until the last minute. Some vaccines require multiple doses or need to be administered 6–8 weeks before travel to provide full protection.
Vaccines are available onsite.
